“And you will say in that day: “Give thanks to the LORD, call upon his name; make known his deeds
among the nations, proclaim that his name is exalted” Isaiah 12:4
Beloved in Christ,
Greetings to you all in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Please be informed that, this week’s Parish Mission meeting will be conducted as WATCH NIGHT prayer (30th July, 2010) in Abu Dhabi from 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm and in Mussafah from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
Last week the word of God was delivered by Mr. Ajith Issac from the Book of Isaiah chapter 6:1-8
Isaiah 6:1-8. The scenario was sometimes after the death of King Uzziah (Ref. 2 Chronicles 26), one of the most successful Judah king. Isaiah ministered during the reign of Uzziah.
In the year King Uzziah expired, Isaiah had a vision that elucidates certain areas as follows. The first and the foremost is GOD’S GREATNESS.
God was on a high and exalted throne worshipped by seraphs and cherubim which means He is exalted and magnified above all that exist in the universe. It indicates that the holy One of Israel dwells on praises. These holy angels could not look at the Holy of holies hence they covered their faces. The majesty and greatness of the Lord is revealed thus.
SECOND, WE SEE GOD’S GOODNESS AND MAN’S UNWORTHINESS.
The first response of an unholy person in the presence of holy God will be a contrast awareness of personal sin. Though we hide our wickedness in the dark, everything in His presence will become naked and open. When we compare ourselves to the standard of holiness the walls of delusion shall come crumbling down.
Here Isaiah was convicted because he was conscious of his uncleanness.
THIRD THING WE SEE IS GOD’S PROVISION. Once Isaiah realizes his sin, Isaiah’s guilt is taken away but it is not shrugged off. His “is atoned from all unrighteousness and sin.
The reason we are called children of God is not because we are good . . . but because we are forgiven. We are forgiven because Christ died for our sin.
WE SEE GOD SUMMONS.
Isaiah, who has been transformed by grace and made alive by the mercy of God, volunteers for service.
Isaiah is now willing to serve not out of obligation but out of gratitude and out of a desire to exalt God’s glory. Isaiah wants the world to know the greatness of God. Isaiah is concerned with one thing . . . to honor the one who is most worthy of honor.
CONCLUSIONS
Finally, we need to start measuring ourselves by the correct standard. Yes, it often hurts. And facing the truth is painful. We must accept responsibility for our own behavior. But the amazing thing about the gospel is that it tells us that because of what Christ has done on our behalf. Our Holy God will cover us with the righteousness and the goodness of Christ.
Indeed, God is great and He is good. Let us devote the rest of our lives for Him
We (Parish Mission ) expect your presence for the meeting regularly and request you to inform and encourage our members in your prayer group to attend the Parish Mission for spiritual nourishment and glorify His name.
